New Superman

Henry Cavill, the star of Showtime's "The Tudors," has been cast as iconic superhero Superman in a film to be directed by Zack Snyder, Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures confirmed in a statement Jan. 30.

"In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time, and I am honored to be a part of his return to the big screen," Snyder said. "I also join Warner Bros., Legendary and the producers in saying how excited we are about the casting of Henry. He is the perfect choice to don the cape and 'S' shield."

Cavill will be seen later this year playing Greek warrior Theseus in director Tarsem Singh's action picture "Immortals," and opposite Bruce Willis and Sigourney Weaver in the thriller "The Cold Light of Day."

The 27-year-old actor was reportedly on the shortlist for "Superman Returns" when McG was to direct it, but when Bryan Singer took over the project he went with Brandon Routh instead.

Real and Reel

Awkward.

Facebook founder MarkZuckerburg finally met his supposed "evil twin" Jesse Eisenberg for the first time during the latter's SNL stint.

Eisenberg got the attention of everyone in the acting scene including the Oscar's for he recently won over a nomination.

The two spent their brief encounter talking about their film, The Social Network.

Eisenberg, a guest host on the NBC show, asked Zuckerberg, "You ever end up seeing the film?"

"Yeah, I did," Zuckerberg replied.

"Cool... uh... what'd you think?" Eisenberg asked.

"It was... interesting," Zuckerberg said.

"Interesting," sighed a seemingly relieved Eisenberg. "I'll take it!"

:)

Sometimes we feel it's the end of the world. A time wherein hope is running out, sadness and destruction fill us up and slowly eat us away. What we need is a healthy dose of happy pills, or simply putting positivity, open-mindedness and will and determination all together. A person must find happiness in everything he/she encounters. Because, who knows? That smile could lead us to greater heights and to things we never could imagine.

So, smile. It brings a message :))

Yellow/Gold

This year's Intramural is probably my best yet - after all, we were the CHAMPIONS. How exciting it is to recap everything that happened - all the preparations, to-die-for practices and mashed up so-called 'everythings'. Everything was like a blur, for time moved as fast as it can. Looking back, I found my former Intramural experiences rather touching and heart-warming. Yes, I perfectly don't remember everything I did during those times but I assure my life would not be the same without it.

This year, I belonged to the Manasseh tribe - one of the tribes of Israel. At first, I was apprehensive about it. I looked blankly at my fellow tribe members and thought, "Will this work?" I was totally unsure of myself, seeing everyone from different backgrounds and perspectives.

This Intramural opened different doors for me. I was a leader of the "back-drop" or "back-droppers" as what we call ourselves. I'm a really shy person, but once I get to cut loose myself, I became someone else. It wasn't easy, feeling all the pressure and stares running after you. BUT. I realized I can be a good leader after all. I enjoyed it and I made new acquaintances. Also, I finally came to my senses to realize how lucky I am to have a talent in acting. I joined the Litmus competition and was part of my tribe's Cooperative Storytelling. How fun it is to practice just 2 days before the final presentation! I felt good inside, to do something for my team. Eventhough we lost in scrabble, I learned to accept defeat. Of course, it was hard to swallow at first but in the end, I guess it wasn't just for us. Lastly, the perfect direction to end another mind-blowing activity is by walking that precious winning streak.

Guess what? We did.

Fruit

Report card days are always giving me the chills. I prefer to stay at home and position myself in front of the television to engross myself so as not to feel the mind-cracking incident about to happen. Before, I was contented with grades such as VS and S (I'm not going anywhere lower!) But things started to change this year. Being a junior is a hectic experience, it's the challenge or the peak of your high school life. Whatever happens during that year would be your base in establishing your final journey as a senior. Good for those who favor Einstein over Brad Pitt. I'm trying my best this school year, I'm not that introvert anymore and I socialize and appreciate the highs of being a teenager.

The fruit of my hard work paid off this 3rd quarter. Getting 8 0's is a BIG accomplishment for me for it shows how much I value my education and how far I can go to attain these prizes.

Starbucks' New Look

Starbucks, the world's largest coffee company and one of the best recognized brands, unveils it's new look. The fresh look goes with a new direction for the company as it makes its way back from its toughest times in its 40-year history. The logo focuses more on Starbucks' main lady and what separates it from the others is because it is wordless, or doesn't have the famous line: "STARBUCKS COFFEE" tattooed on it anymore. This is the fourth version of Starbucks' logo since the company's beginnings as a small coffee, tea and spice shop in Seattle in 1971.

Meet Ian Somerhalder - the epitome of sexiness. :")

Perfect Place

It's the first week of school for 2011. After 2 weeks of relaxing, partying, and doing nothing, it was time to go back to reality. Probably one thing that makes me eager to go to school is the new seating arrangement since I want to have another new batch of seatmates to bond with. I've been wishing to sit with someone very close to me, and guess what? I seat next to Cathly who is one of my best best friends! Plus, seating very close to us are Ste, Deo, and Clea who are also my good friends. I could not contain my happiness. All together we form one big happy family- a very happy and laugh-out-loud family. :))

A New Beginning

Time runs so fast that even in a blink of an eye, thiings can change. As we enter another chapter in our lives, my mind is full of thoughts about everything that happened in the previous year - the highs, the lows, and even the painful thought of how I didn't finish or get done everything in 2010. Different emotions covered me up like happiness, anxiety, and excitement. All of us are looking forward to face another challenging year ahead of us. Who knows, maybe this year's going to be a whole lot better? We should just be prepared whatever happens and we should always bear in mind that prayer and trust in God and in ourselves can help us survive in al of life's demands. We should welcome the year with a beaming smile and a positive disposition.
